Palshet Diaries: The Homecoming

Sometimes, it takes an impromptu plan and a heavy tourist season to find a hidden gem.

Into the dense forest of a long forgotten Konkan village lies Joshi Wadi. Within Konkan, which is the coastal region of the state of Maharashtra in India, lies the village of Palshet itself which has a very old history. It even had an inland river dock when the British sailed these waters. But that’s in the past. Present day Palshet is a hidden little sanctuary I’ve found to be welcoming and charming in a myriad ways.
